In an interview on Anna Maria Velli’s online show, the actress shared her feelings of subconscious pressure regarding motherhood. She also revealed that her doctor was the one who suggested she proceed with egg freezing. A segment of the interview was aired on the show Happy Day.
In more detail, Samara stated:
“If I had frozen my eggs while in a relationship and we later broke up, I wouldn’t be able to use them. There was a consent requirement from the man regarding my eggs. If we separated, I wouldn’t have been able to use them. Things like this happen, and honestly, let them write about bikinis instead. It drives me crazy. This really shocked me when I heard it.”
She continued:
“I think there’s a general lack of awareness about the process. I believe the sense of pressure exists consciously and unconsciously within us. Socially, it’s ingrained. Consciously, no one pressured me, nor did I feel direct pressure. But I’m certain that socially, it’s there. Because I wasn’t sure if or when I wanted children, and when I saw my AMH levels decreasing, my doctor suggested I freeze my eggs, which triggered anxiety about needing to make a decision.”
