Four people have been identified by police as the perpetrators of the murder of a 34-year-old man who was shot dead at dawn on New Year’s Day after a bloody incident in the centre of Serres.

According to reports, the case file that has been formed for the case, which is accused of manslaughter with intent and conspiracy, includes four men, three locals aged 30, 28, and 27, and an Albanian national aged 29.

The incident happened shortly after 5 a.m. in the pedestrian street of Serres on Corfu Street. After an argument the four perpetrators had with the victim, they fatally wounded him with the knife, achieving two blows on the left side of his body, specifically in the ribs and groin.

Although the victim was taken by ambulance to Serres Hospital, a few hours later he breathed his last.

After a short time, he died a few minutes later.

When police officers arrived at the scene of the bloody incident, they found and confiscated 6 shell casings from a crack gas pistol.

A fight with a store bouncer started the deadly brawl

The victim wanted to enter a nightclub with two other friends. At the door was one of the offenders, who refused to let the group in, which initially resulted in a verbal altercation. The victim’s party left, and after about an hour it is speculated that they either made an appointment with the bouncer’s party or waited for the club to close, because they met again, this time in an alleyway next to the main pedestrian street in the city.

Within just a few minutes, the blood flared and on top of the melee, one of the men – presumably the bouncer himself – pulled out a military-style knife and managed two stab wounds to the victim, one of which was to the femoral artery. In fact, according to reliable police sources, another person in the perpetrator’s party fired a percussion gas pistol more than five times in the air.

They then fled, with the perpetrators being sought by the authorities.
