His post:

“The death of Kostas Simitis is a great national loss. Whatever one says is an understatement. He was associated with Greece at the height of its diplomatic power, with Greece in the EMU, at the heart of Europe and Cyprus in the EU, with the Greece of great projects and the optimism of the Olympic Games, and with the timeless demand to modernise the country. A Prime Minister who proved that when Greece wants it, Greece can do it. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.”
