On Thursday, January 9, at noon at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens, the funeral service for the former prime minister, Kostas Simitis, while his burial will then take place at the A’ Cemetery.

The former PM will have a state funeral with the honors of a sitting prime minister.

As agreed, eulogies will be delivered by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, the president of PASOK Nikos Androulakis, and three friends of the former prime minister. They are Professor Emeritus Giannis Voulgaris, Konstantinos Tsoukalas, and Tassos Gianitsis, who was also a minister in Kostas Simitis’ government.
