Moments of terror were experienced by an abuser in Los Angeles when the self-driving taxi of the company “Waymo” began to move uncontrollably, causing the vehicle to start going in circles.
The adventure for Mike Johns occurred while he was heading to the Los Angeles airport to return to his home in Arizona.
“I have a flight to catch. Why is this thing going in circles? I’m getting dizzy,” Johns can be heard saying in the related video from the back seat of the spinning vehicle to a Waymo customer service representative
“He’s circling a parking lot. I put my seat belt on. I can’t get out of the car. Did this one get hacked? What’s wrong? I feel like I’m in the movie theater. Is someone making fun of me?” was the next question from the frightened businessman.
The company representative finally told John to open the company’s app on his cell phone so he could check the vehicle.
According to the businessman’s LinkedIn post, the car went “eight circles, it looked like a scene from a science fiction horror movie.”
A spokesperson for the company said after the video was released that the accident occurred in mid-December and delayed Johns for five minutes before the vehicle drove him to the airport.
