The trail of 39-year-old Vassilis Kalogiros disappeared in Larisa on the afternoon of December 30. It is perhaps the most important material that the authorities have so far in their hands. At 5:10 in the afternoon of that day, the 39-year-old is seen on video near his home moving toward the Pinneios River as he had decided to go for a walk after lunch with his family.
Nearly ten days later still authorities and volunteers involved have been unable to locate him. Also despite the large mobilization, there are still no tangible clues as to where Vassilis Kalogerou might be.
Did the investigations start on day one? and are continuing on the Pinios River. Firefighters, men of the EMAK, trained dogs, but also a robotic machine are involved but unfortunately they have not found the slightest trace of the 39-year-old.
All these days many kilometers of the riverbed have been searched. The searches are being hampered by debris and tree trunks lying on the bottom from the battering of the “Daniel” phenomenon. It is possible that the search radius in the river will be opened further in the coming hours, as the river continued to flow in the first hours of the search, according to private investigator George Tsoukalis, who has been activated by the 39-year-old’s family.
Police and volunteers are examining abandoned buildings around the Pinios River and unconfirmed reports, such as one that someone said they saw Vassilis Kalogeros in Platamonas, Pieria, or another report that saw the light of day yesterday claiming the missing man was in a monastery in Larissa.
At the same time, authorities have received video footage from the OSE station in Larissa. This footage is from the hours and days he disappeared. Something similar will be done with the bus companies to rule out that the 39-year-old used public transport after his disappearance.
