There has been confusion among citizens, particularly older people and those with chronic illnesses, about the new way of scheduling appointments at private doctors and healthcare facilities. Since New Year’s Eve when the administration of the National Health Services Organization Health Services Delivery System (EOPY) announced that appointments would be made only digitally, confusion began among both doctors who did not know the details of the new system and citizens who are asking important questions.
The Health Ministry and the EOPY administration have given a grace period until February 1 for doctors and policyholders to familiarize themselves with the electronic platform. This means that the days until then are a period of adjustment and for now the use of the platform is not mandatory, although it is open to anyone who wishes to schedule an appointment there.
