Two minors, both aged 17, were arrested for stealing from a business located in the Athanatoi area, along the Heraklion-Moires national road. The perpetrators reportedly took various items, including chairs and fire extinguishers.
According to neakriti.gr, the owner of the business, who was nearby, noticed the theft and immediately alerted the police. Officers rushed to the scene and arrested the two minors.
Additionally, the father of one of the minors, a 47-year-old man, was also arrested on charges of neglecting the supervision of a minor. The father of the second minor has not been located and is currently being sought by authorities.
Police Statement:
“Yesterday morning (08.01.2025), officers from the Heraklion Division for Crime Prevention and Investigation arrested two (2) minor foreign nationals accused of theft. Additionally, a foreign guardian was arrested for neglecting the supervision of minors.
Specifically, officers of the aforementioned service arrested the two minors yesterday morning (08.01.2025) after they had previously stolen various items and electrical appliances from the business of a local resident in the Heraklion municipality. The stolen items were found in their possession and were returned to their rightful owner. The preliminary investigation is being conducted by the Heraklion Crime Prevention and Investigation Division.”
