I wanted to be here to support those undergoing treatment and facing such a challenging time, she stated

Princess Kate today visited the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she has been undergoing treatments for her cancer, to thank staff and offer her support to patients.

“I wanted to come to show my support (…) to those who are undergoing treatments and going through such a difficult time,” said the princess, who has just turned 43. In addition, she praised the “extraordinary work” being done at this hospital.

“To come here from the main entrance, after having made so many discreet and private visits, is nice,” the princess said, standing in front of the hospital, which is located in the Chelsea district in the western part of the British capital.

Kate announced in March 2024 that she had been diagnosed with cancer, the type of which she did not disclose, and that she had begun chemotherapy. In September, she said she was “relieved” to have completed her treatment, in a video showing her with William and their three children.

The center where she underwent treatment had not been known until today.

Kate, who is the wife of William, the heir to the throne, “wanted to make this visit to express her gratitude to this incredible team and to highlight the world-leading care that Marsden provides,” Kensington Palace said in a press release.

The princess spent about an hour in hospital.

Among other things, she chatted with a patient who had just received her first treatment.

On her way out, she hugged a woman visiting the hospital. “I’m sorry. I wish I could have helped more,” the princess said, visibly moved.
