Two hit-and-run accidents caused by the same driver occurred within a short time frame on Tuesday night in central Athens.
The two accidents were caused by a young driver, with reports identifying him as a 25-year-old of Georgian origin.
According to the same reports, the first accident happened at approximately 10:30 PM when the young man’s car struck a pedestrian on Panepistimiou Street and fled the scene.
A short while later, the same car entered Patision Street and collided with a motorcycle, with the driver again abandoning the victim at the scene.
Following a police search and surveillance footage analysis, officers arrested the Georgian man in the early hours of Wednesday.
Reports indicate that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
