Heraklion: The shameful video of students attacking peers after a school basketball game

At least two students were injured, and the referee was hit - The attack was made by students of the High School of Alikarnassos

A video showing the disgraceful events that occurred after the basketball game between the school teams of the 11th High School of Heraklion and Alikarnassos High School (GEL) was posted on Facebook. In the video, students from Alikarnassos High School can be seen attacking students from the 11th High School.

The footage shows students brutally hitting their peers, while a frightened girl can be heard saying, “He knocked him out, man, he knocked him out.”

Teachers and the principal of Alikarnassos High School immediately intervened to try to calm the situation, but to no avail. Even the referee of the game and officials from the Physical Education Office of Secondary Education in Heraklion stepped in to break up the fight.

At least two students and the referee were punched in the face. One student was more seriously injured, with his face swelling up from a blow he received.

In the end, the police were called to ensure the safe exit of the students who were in the Lido indoor gymnasium.
