A 39-year-old Turkish national has been arrested and confessed to the murder of the 61-year-old owner of an OPAP agency in Palaio Faliro. His motive was robbery, and with that intent, he entered the shop on the evening of last Sunday.

Police were able to locate and arrest him by analyzing footage from surveillance cameras and other evidence found at the crime scene. In his possession, authorities discovered a sum of €7,000, believed to have been taken from the store’s cash register. The suspect, who resides in Greece under asylum status, confessed to the murder during interrogation.

However, he claimed that he had not entered the store intending to commit robbery but as a customer. He alleged that he got into an argument with the store owner, who attacked him with a knife and a bat. He then claimed to have disarmed the victim, leading to the fatal incident.
