Horror and outrage have erupted following new details about the abuse of a 3-year-old boy in a neighborhood of Heraklion, Crete. The boy’s 26-year-old mother and her 44-year-old partner have been arrested in connection with the case. They face charges including attempted homicide, causing bodily harm to a vulnerable person, exposure to danger, and domestic violence.

A three-year-old boy who was rushed to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday (26/1) is in critical condition in the Pediatric ICU of Pagni Hospital in Heraklion, Crete.

Doctors are making extraordinary efforts to save the child, whose condition remains critical, according to patris.gr.

The boy suffered a severe head injury and was immediately taken into surgery before being transferred to the Pediatric ICU, where he is now intubated and under constant care.

Meanwhile, the child’s parents have been summoned to the Heraklion Police Department to provide information that may clarify the circumstances leading to the injury.
