A significant quantity of cannabis was detected and seized by the inspectors of the Hellenic Police at the Athens Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos”.
Specifically, the auditors of the Customs service, with the assistance of the drug detection dogs “Diego” and “Bane”, detected a pallet of eight cartons with narcotic substances in a warehouse of the airport.
The cartons contained, wrapped in aluminum foil, 168 plastic packages of cannabis, totaling a gross weight of 105 kilograms, hidden in clothing.
The shipment originated in Thailand with final destination Greece, via Constantinople, and the declared consignee company was a dummy.
The drugs were seized and a preliminary investigation was launched in cooperation with the Hellenic Police.
