4 people arrested for drug trafficking in Kypseli and Agios Panteleimonas

A 57-year-old Greek national was arrested in the afternoon of January 30, 2025, by officers of the Immediate Response Unit (DIAS Team) on charges of violating drug-related legislation.

Specifically, after acting on intelligence, the officers spotted the 57-year-old riding a motorcycle in the Kypseli area and conducted a search. During the search, they found and confiscated 255 grams of unprocessed cannabis, which was packed in a plastic bag. He was then taken to the Athens Subdivision for Drug Enforcement and Crime Investigation, which has taken over the preliminary investigation.

A subsequent search was conducted at the suspect’s residence, where he lived with a 60-year-old woman, who was also arrested for drug-related offenses. Authorities found and seized the following:

  • 46.4 grams of cocaine,
  • 30.7 grams of processed cannabis (hashish),
  • 17.9 grams of unprocessed cannabis,
  • a precision electronic scale, and
  • €1,250 in cash.

The arrested individuals, with case files compiled against them by the Athens Subdivision for Drug Enforcement and Crime Investigation, were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Additionally, at midday on January 31, 2025, a 37-year-old Greek national was arrested by officers of the Immediate Response Unit (DIAS Team) in coordination with the Agios Panteleimonas Drug Enforcement and Crime Investigation Department on charges of violating drug-related legislation.

After investigating reports regarding an individual trafficking drugs from a residence in Agios Panteleimonas, officers located the suspect and confirmed his criminal activity.

A search of his home and belongings led to the confiscation of:

  • 35 grams of cocaine,
  • 10 Ecstasy tablets,
  • 34 pharmaceutical pills,
  • a plastic bag containing 13 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms, and
  • €170 in cash.

The suspect, with a case file compiled against him, was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Finally, at midday on January 31, 2025, a 24-year-old foreign national was arrested in the Kypseli area by Immediate Response Unit (DIAS Team) officers on charges of violating drug and weapons legislation.

While on patrol, officers noticed suspicious activity involving two individuals in Amerikis Square and proceeded to conduct a search.

Upon seeing the officers, one of the individuals threw a backpack onto the street and attempted to flee, but the officers quickly restrained him.

A search of his belongings and the contents of the discarded backpack uncovered:

  • 8 plastic-wrapped packages containing a total of 30.26 grams of cannabis,
  • a folding knife, and
  • €100 in cash.

The suspect, with a case file compiled against him by the Athens Subdivision for Drug Enforcement and Crime Investigation, was referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.
