The 60-year-old man refused to leave the workshop and threatened to commit suicide, while, as it was found, he was carrying a firearm and a grenade.

The statement continued, “Officers cordoned off the area around the laboratory and evacuated homes and premises in the vicinity of the scene to ensure the physical integrity and the lives of bystanders and any passers-by. At about 16:00, and while negotiations were continuing, the 60-year-old man left the workshop, firing in the air with a “KALASHNIKOV” type military weapon he was carrying, fired a shot at a police officer of the EKAM and immediately with a revolver pistol, which he carried, fatally wounded himself.
