At HORECA, the annual international exhibition that serves as a meeting point for professionals in tourism, hospitality, and equipment for the hospitality industry, particularly in the Business Lab of the event, the Head of the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), Giorgos Pitsilis, participated.
During his speech, Mr. Pitsilis emphasized the importance of the digital transformation of tax administration as a catalyst for enhancing entrepreneurship and healthy competition in the food service, hotel equipment, and mass catering industries.
In particular, he referred to a series of initiatives and innovations being implemented by AADE, including:
- The digital ecosystem myDATA, the integration of POS – cash register systems, and electronic invoicing, which modernize businesses’ tax compliance.
- Specialized connection issues for HoReCa businesses.
- The new myDATAapp, which provides businesses with secure and reliable digital issuance of receipts, customer management, and tracking of financial data via mobile phones.
- The Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) that AADE has signed with digital platforms to enhance compliance in the short-term rental sector.
- The upgrade of services through the Pan-Channel Taxpayer Support Center and the upcoming new TAXIS system.
The presence of the Head of AADE at HoReCa 2025 underscores the commitment of the tax administration to promoting digital tools that create a transparent and competitive business environment, strengthening the development and sustainability of businesses in the hospitality and catering sectors.
