Crime in Dafni: Urgent investigation into the incident – Investigations continue to identify the perpetrator

Emergency Administrative Inquiry to establish the circumstances under which the brutal crime at the Psychiatric Hospital in Dafni, in accordance with the provisions of the Employment Code ordered by the 2nd DYPE Piraeus and Aegean.

The incident took place on Wednesday, at 3:15 am, when a patient attacked a 34-year-old woman, also a patient, and escaped.

“Medical and nursing staff made every effort to resuscitate the victim, who unfortunately ended up dead. At the same time, the ECAB, the GAD and the Emergency Response Team were called and instructions were given to take measures for the safety of both the patients and the staff of the Multi-Purpose Nursing Unit,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, investigations are continuing to identify the perpetrator

The statement details:

On Wednesday 19/2/2025 at 03.15 am, a male patient, aged 46, who was being treated in a Psychiatric Clinic of the Attica Multipurpose Mental Health Nursing Unit of Attica, with a court decision, in application of the provisions of Article 69 of the Criminal Code, attacked a 44-year-old female patient, who was being treated in the same Psychiatric Clinic, causing her serious bodily harm. The patient then escaped from the Clinic where he was being treated.

Medical and nursing staff made every effort to resuscitate the victim, who unfortunately expired. At the same time, the ambulance, the GADA and the Rapid Response Unit were called and instructions were given to take measures for the safety of both the patients and the staff of the Multipurpose Nursing Unit. An Urgent Administrative Inquiry was ordered to be carried out in order to establish the circumstances under which the incident took place in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Code. An operation by the Hellenic Police is underway to locate the patient alleged to be the perpetrator.
