Forensic experts from the forensic laboratories of the Police are trying to answer the basic question of what happened to the 39-year-old Vasilis Kalogirou who was found dead on the hidden slope of Tirnavos.
No foreign DNA on his clothes and fingernails
According to reliable information, no traces of foreign DNA were found on both the 39-year-old’s fingernails and his clothes. Evidence extremely important for drawing some initial conclusions as if he had been in contact with a person or if he had struggled or defended himself, there should be some trace of foreign DNA. Of course, an important factor that could have eliminated any foreign traces is the weather conditions in the area given that the body was exposed for days.
His clothes are intact
Another item that is being assessed as particularly important by the authorities is that the 39-year-old’s body was fully clothed. His clothes were in pristine condition. The experienced officers handling the case are awaiting the new statements from the parents of the psychologist but also the results of toxicology and histology tests which are expected within the next month.
Starting next Monday, the mother, father, and uncle of the 39-year-old are expected to testify after being summoned at the request of the Prosecutor of the Supreme Court to provide explanations regarding suspicions surrounding the death of Vasilis Kalogirou.
The summons of the three relatives of the 39-year-old was issued following the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s order for an urgent preliminary investigation by the Larissa Prosecutor’s Office to determine the cause of Vasilis Kalogirou’s death.
