Volodymyr Zelensky said a ceasefire is “absolutely possible” with U.S. leadership, stressing the importance of coordination with allies.
Ukraine’s president, following talks with Germany’s outgoing chancellor Olaf Scholz, said on social media that they had had a “frank discussion on various issues”, including their “vision of future security“.
“We rely on the unity of Europe around Ukraine, and we are working in this direction,” he stressed.
Zelensky noted that “we all want a secure future for our peoples. Not a temporary ceasefire, but the end of the war once and for all.” He concluded by noting that “with the coordination of our efforts and the leadership of the United States, this is entirely possible.”
