Matt Damon: “I feel amazing in Greece, I really love it”

Hollywood star Matt Damon recently traveled to Greece for the filming of Christopher Nolan's highly anticipated movie, Odyssey

Newsroom March 7 01:55

In a cheerful and excited tone, just before departing from Athens’ Eleftherios Venizelos Airport, Damon spoke to the cameras of the TV show To Proino about his experience in Greece.

This marks not Damon’s first visit to the beautiful country. He expressed his love for Greece, saying, “I feel amazing in Greece, I really love it. This isn’t my first time here; I’ve been here many times. This time, I’m here for a new film.” He went on to share his excitement for being part of the Odyssey project, noting, “I’m really happy to be here. I haven’t learned any Greek words, though,” adding a touch of humor to his statement.

Odyssey will see most of its filming take place in the picturesque regions of Messinia and Corinthia. Damon, always approachable and down-to-earth, looked casual at the airport, dressed in jeans, a black hoodie, and a cap. Despite the busy travel schedule, he remained in good spirits, patiently awaiting his flight alongside fellow passengers.

The Epic Journey of Odyssey

Christopher Nolan’s latest film adapts Homer’s legendary Odyssey, depicting Odysseus’s ten-year journey home after the Trojan War. The movie promises to bring to life iconic characters from the epic, including Penelope, Telemachus, Athena, and Poseidon. The protagonist will face mythical challenges and legendary creatures, and Nolan has gathered an all-star cast for the film. Anne Hathaway will star as Penelope, Tom Holland as Telemachus, Charlize Theron as Calypso, Lupita Nyong’o as Circe, Zendaya as Athena, and Robert Pattinson as Poseidon.

Matt Damon’s love for Greece is clear, and with such an exciting cast and director behind the camera, the Odyssey film is one to look forward to!
