Bwin teams up with Olympiacos & Panathinaikos to celebrate International Women’s Day

Basketball isn’t just about the game—it’s about the people who inspire us, push us forward, and make us better

Newsroom March 8 01:30

On March 8, Bwin, the Official National Sponsor of the EuroLeague, joined forces with Olympiacos and Panathinaikos to honor the women who play a pivotal role in the lives of players and fans alike.

Bwin Puts Women in the Spotlight!

With the help of some of the biggest stars from Greece’s powerhouse clubs, Bwin delivered a heartfelt message of gratitude to grandmothers, mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters—the women who shape lives both on and off the court.

In a moving video tribute, players including Peters, Lessort, Vezenkov, Milutinov, Mitoglou, Larentzakis, Yurtseven, Osman, Papanikolaou, Grigonis, Walkup, Sloukas, and Hernangómez shared personal stories of love and appreciation for the women who have supported them unconditionally.

  • The Spanish forward of Panathinaikos spoke about the sacrifices his mother made for him.
  • “Larry” (Larentzakis) emphasized the importance of a mother’s role in shaping a person’s life.
  • Peters praised the dedication and patience of the women in his life.
  • Walkup expressed gratitude for finding his soulmate.
  • The captain of Panathinaikos shared his deep love for his daughter.

Emotions ran high as players reflected on the values and life lessons they’ve received from the women closest to them—showing that basketball is about more than just wins and losses.

Bwin remains committed to social responsibility, consistently supporting organizations, foundations, NGOs, and institutional bodies to build a better and more sustainable future for society. Through its various initiatives, the brand continues to give back to those in need and drive meaningful change.

👉 Respect. Appreciation. Equality. A powerful message from Bwin, Olympiacos, and Panathinaikos—because in life, just like in sports, teamwork makes the difference! 🏀💙
