Women's basketball: Selen Erdem takes over Panathinaikos without delay

Panathinaikos is making its second coaching change of the season, bringing in Turkish coach Selen Erdem, who impressed with PAS Giannina by leading them to the Greek Cup final. Erdem is set to arrive in Athens right away and will make her debut on Wednesday in the first playoff game against Amyntas.

Having wrapped up her commitments with PAS Giannina, Erdem will now replace Giorgos Simos on the Panathinaikos bench. Known for her passion and intense sideline presence, she has quickly gained recognition in women’s basketball circles.

Panathinaikos finished third in the regular season, and if they get past Amyntas, they’ll face a tough semifinal matchup against powerhouse Athinaikos, who already defeated them at home in the second round of the championship.
