The digital project to highlight the Athens Conservatory is nearing completion. Soon, the general public and interested researchers will have the opportunity to discover valuable aspects of the institution’s rich history, as well as the musical-theatrical education in Athens, since 1871.
The online portal of the Athens Conservatory will serve as a journey through time, as well as a fascinating mosaic of knowledge, filling a significant gap in knowledge and experience in the field of performing arts in our country.
Records from its historical archive, a timeline, digital thematic exhibitions with unpublished stories, as well as narrative videos about the significant personalities of the Athens Conservatory such as Maria Callas, Dimitri Mitropoulos, Nikos Skalkotas, Gina Bachauer, and others, original educational applications in music education, and the architectural highlights of the emblematic building designed by Ioannis Despotopoulos, will soon be available to the public.
The documentation and curation of the historical archive and exhibits is being carried out under the responsibility and scientific guidance of the Research and Documentation Center of the Athens Conservatory (KETOA).
