A total of 751 unemployed people have already been hired through DYPA’s new employment subsidy program in Thessaly, which launched on January 30.
According to the announcement by the public agency, an additional 796 unemployed individuals have submitted applications for funding to launch their own businesses. The program is expected to close soon, as it will fund a total of 1,000 new enterprises.
It is also noted that three new targeted employment initiatives have recently been launched by DYPA in the Region of Thessaly, with a total budget of €109 million, aimed at supporting 6,500 unemployed individuals:
- Program for the creation of 5,000 new full-time jobs: This initiative targets unemployed people of all ages and businesses operating in the Region of Thessaly. The subsidy covers up to 75% of the employee’s salary and contributions (up to €1,250 per month) for a period of up to 18 months. The total budget for this action is €90 million.
- Program for the creation of 1,000 new businesses: The aim of the program is to support 1,000 unemployed individuals of all ages in launching their own business, with a total grant of €14,800 per business for 12 months. The total budget is €14.8 million.
- Work experience program for 500 young unemployed individuals in climate action initiatives: This program aims to provide professional experience to 500 unemployed individuals aged 18 to 30, in projects focused on combating the effects of climate change and protecting the environment. The budget for this initiative is €4.2 million.
