She hacked her mother-in-law and sent her love conversations with other men to her ex-husband

The relationship between mother-in-law and bride was strained - "Anyone who talks about morality should first look at their own behaviour", the 27-year-old said after sending screenshots of the revealing messages - "She has anger towards my mother", says the woman's ex-husband

A 27-year-old woman is now facing justice as she is accused of “hacking” her ex-mother-in-law‘s personal Instagram account and sending her estranged husband – the complainant’s ex-husband – personal, erotic conversations she had with other men.

According to the 56-year-old’s lawsuit, the case unfolded in a town in Western Macedonia, near Thessaloniki, a few months ago, when the 27-year-old hacked into her Instagram account for the umpteenth time. As she claims, she was looking for something incriminating about her ex-mother-in-law, which could embarrass her against her estranged husband.

“So, she took several snapshots I had with a user named (…) and sent them to my estranged husband, while accusing me of my morals,” she says in her lawsuit.

The woman points out that after sending the messages, her already strained relationship with her ex-husband deteriorated even further. He, who lives in Germany, cut her off from all means of communication, saying he was shocked by the content of the conversations.

The revealing messages and “revenge”

The 27-year-old allegedly sent the 56-year-old’s ex-husband a series of screenshots, which recorded highly personal and sexually explicit conversations between the sufferer and another man on Instagram.

In the message sent to his mobile phone, the 27-year-old wrote: “A small sample of exactly what my sweet mother-in-law is discussing with various people on Instagram and accusing me of chick flicks (…). I’m sorry you’re finding out this way, however anyone who talks about morality should look at their own behaviour first and then go into the process of judging the other person.”

The testimony of the 27-year-old’s ex-husband

The 27-year-old’s ex-husband, who was examined as a witness in the case, admitted that his then-wife had gained access to his mother’s accounts without her consent. He said he had asked her to stop, but she continued.

“At one point, while we were living together, she had shown me on her mobile phone that she had gained access to my mum’s accounts and was reading her conversations. I asked her why she was doing this and she replied that she wanted to see if my mother was writing bad things about her. I think she has a grudge against my mother. I asked her to stop monitoring her social media, but she continued. I could not imagine that she would go to the extent of annoying my father and sending him snippets of my mother’s conversations. I’m really sorry,” he testified.

The defense’s response

The 27-year-old faces a felony charge of violating the confidentiality of telephone and oral communications. She is expected to plead before the investigating judge in the near future for the acts she is accused of.

For her part, the lawyer – criminal lawyer representing the 27-year-old, Anthoula Anasoglou, argues that it is a case of conspiracy against her client:

“The whole complaint is a plot, which was set up by a mother and son for the sole purpose of smearing the name and character of my client. The only person who had the Instagram passwords of the complainant is her own son, who with persuasion and forcefulness convinced his ex-wife to send the mother’s conversation with a third person with whom she had developed an extramarital affair. He persuaded her by weaving the tale of shock, ostensibly fearing his father’s reactions to him. But because the truth is not easily hidden, the whole plot will be exposed before the justice system.

My client states next to shocked not only because a plot was woven behind her back but because in the light of all the revelations, she found that many times her accuser and former mother-in-law used her as an alibi. She would often come to my client’s house and always call her husband to see their grandson and then apparently disappear on private appointments.”
