With applause and exclamations of relief, Madrid residents welcomed the restoration of electricity to their homes after an extended outage caused by a major blackout that affected Spain and other countries on Monday afternoon.
Videos posted on social media and shared by international media captured moments of celebration reminiscent of… a goal celebration.
According to The Guardian, the footage was recorded at 21:46, when “light returned” to the Spanish capital.
