The moment when the police officers take into their hands the baby found next to the trash bins in Alimos (updated)

A Romani woman reported that while she was at a supermarket in downtown Athens, an unknown person approached her and snatched the baby — two hours later, the girl was found in Alimos

Newsroom May 14 07:29

The shocking moments that unfolded in Alimos, when a woman discovered a baby in a bag next to a trash can, are captured in the videos and images published by protothema.gr. The woman who found it notified the police, and when DIAS officers arrived, they hurried to take the baby, who was crying continuously in the arms. The little girl is in good health, and thanks to the woman, her ordeal ended quite quickly.

According to initial reports, earlier around 14:30, a Romani woman reported to the authorities that while she was at a supermarket in downtown Athens, specifically in Omonia, an unknown person approached her and, under the pretense of wanting to buy something for the baby, snatched the child. About two hours later, a citizen who found the crying girl near a trash bin in Alimos notified the authorities.
