Since last week, following the meeting between Giannis Alafouzos and Rui Vitória, Panathinaikos had made it clear that they would continue into the new season with the Portuguese coach on the bench.

Nevertheless, intense speculation has emerged, including reports and references to the contrary, prompting the club to reiterate its stance on the matter.

Specifically, from within the “green” camp, the following was emphasized:

“Despite the fact that we have already announced that we are moving forward with our plan for the new season with Rui Vitória, we are forced to make another statement due to media reports that are creating confusion. Panathinaikos has a coach, and that coach is Rui Vitória. With him, we are proceeding with the planning of the upcoming season. Any other claim does not reflect reality and serves other purposes.”
