Glyka Nera: 17-year-old arrested for brutal beating of 50-year-old man – Victim in ICU

What the minor’s parents claimed regarding the attempted murder charges

Newsroom May 21 08:10

A 17-year-old has been arrested for the brutal beating of a 50-year-old man in Glyka Nera on Monday night, according to the police handling the case.

The man was reportedly attacked so violently — even struck with a scooter — that he sustained severe injuries and had to be admitted to the ICU of Evangelismos Hospital, where he remains intubated.

According to sources, the 17-year-old’s parents claimed that two days earlier, the 50-year-old had threatened the minor’s sister with a knife, which may have been the reason for Monday night’s assault.

The same sources say the initial assessment by the coroner suggests that some of the victim’s injuries may also have been caused by a fall following the savage attack by the minor and possibly others involved.
