Meeting with the 13 regional governors of the country, following their had last February where the project oversight mechanism was presented, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis had a meeting today, Friday.
The prime minister sent the message that “this teamwork must become more systematic and intensified by the end of the year.”

He also called on the regional leaders “to speak for themselves by developing the specific issues per region and to propose realistic options for effective actions, especially when the review of the ESPA and the European budget 2027-2034 is imminent.”
In this context, he recalled that “our country will take over the EU Presidency in the second half of 2027 at a crucial juncture for the future of European financial instruments”.
For his part, the South Aegean regional governor and president of the Union of Greek Regions (ENPE), Giorgos Hadjimarkos, noted that “we want a Greece of increased potential with reforms out of the box to end inertia or populist mindsets to overturn stereotypes and myths.
