A shocking new theory about the disappearance of 3-year-old Madeleine McCann has come to light in recent hours, shortly after new searches for her in the south of Portugal concluded.
Specifically, the Mirror reports, Portuguese authorities have requested an investigation into a British man and his German wife, who may have killed the little girl in a drunk driving accident.
The complaint came to light after his sister tipped off police in 2018, claiming the man may be hiding a “dark secret.”
It should be noted that the German and Portuguese investigators who led the latest search for Madeleine McCann – 18 years after her disappearance – have yet to comment on any potential discoveries made during the search, which lasted three days.
However, it has been revealed that the searches have focused on the debris around an abandoned building, which is about a kilometre away from where the 3-year-old was last seen, while also “combing” other sites and abandoned buildings just a few kilometres away from the resort of Praia da Luz.
Researchers also took a few soil samples and some animal bones.
“The police will never incriminate me,” says key suspect
At the same time, 48-year-old Christian Bruckner, who is the main suspect in the case of little Madeleine’s disappearance, has vowed that German police will “never” incriminate him.
According to a letter published in Britain’s Sun newspaper, Bruckner mocked the lack of evidence against him in the case, writing the following:
“Is there a body? No. Was I or my vehicle clearly seen near the crime scene on the night of the crime?
Is there any DNA evidence linking me to the crime scene? Are there any traces of the victim’s DNA on my vehicle?
Are there any other traces/carriers of the victim’s DNA in my possession? Photographs? And, lest we forget, is there a body? All no, no, no.”
