Sports facilities with a significant historical footprint

LAMDA Development supports people, communities, and Greek sports with projects built to last

Newsroom June 11 09:30

We know LAMDA Development as a leading real estate development company. However, it is also a living entity that meaningfully invests in society and its future. With a sense of responsibility and vision, it consistently supports people by delivering projects that transform our everyday lives.

As part of the major development project “The Ellinikon,” LAMDA Development aims to spread the benefits across all of Attica. The renewal is not limited to neighborhoods around the former airport, but reaches the entire city, with projects that embody the spirit of a new era.

In cooperation with relevant state authorities, the company has breathed new life into public sports facilities in Attica that had long lost their past glory and had been left to deteriorate over time. Today, these spaces are being revitalized, transformed into modern, accessible, and welcoming structures, ready to host thousands of citizens who love sports and an active lifestyle.

Significant renovation projects have been successfully completed: the Paiania Indoor Olympic Training Centers, the Aquatic Training Center, the Weightlifting Training Facility, and the Velodrome at OAKA have all once again become modern temples of sports. At the same time, facilities in the Olympic Village — such as the air-supported dome and the swimming pool — along with the athletic and administrative complexes of the Kapagerof and Mikrolimano Swimming Pools in Piraeus, have been fully renovated, bringing a breath of fresh air to the area.

The total cost of these projects exceeded 20 million euros and was invested with principles of accessibility for people with disabilities and energy efficiency in mind. LAMDA Development supports people, communities, and Greek sports with projects that endure over time, creating a historical legacy that future generations will remember. LAMDA Development writes its story through projects that enliven the present and prepare for a future where sports will be accessible, upgraded, and embedded in the heart of society.
