A children’s party turned into a tragedy in Rhodes as a 3-year-old girl drowned in a pool at a health food store in the Ialyssos area.
According to information from protothema.gr, the child was at a children’s party being held at the store with his grandmother when she fell into the pool. The same reports say there was no lifeguard. The child was pulled unconscious from the pool. The ambulance was immediately alerted and arrived at the scene within minutes, with rescuers starting a prolonged resuscitation process for the toddler, according to rodiaki.gr.
The little girl was rushed to Rhodes Hospital, where the medical staff were on full alert, but unfortunately, they were unable to keep her alive. According to the editor of the local media “Proti Edition”, the amount of water found in the child’s lungs was too much.

The owner of the business, who was arrested, was released on a verbal order from the prosecutor. The results of the autopsy ordered are awaited and when the investigations are completed and the case file is completed, the legal procedure will be followed.

With sadness, our hospital announces the demise of a three-year-old child. Despite concerted efforts, the ambulance engine within six minutes of the call was at the scene and the ambulance arrived shortly afterwards.
During the time of the transport, first aid was administered, namely, an external defibrillator, cap, and laryngeal mask.
She was subsequently admitted to the General Hospital of Rhodes with mydriasis and no pulse, where all medical and nursing staff, as well as psychologists and social workers, were on standby, applying all the appropriate treatment protocols.
