Shortly after 3:45 a.m., the first of three Air Force aircraft, a C-27, landed at the 112th Combat Wing in Elefsina to conduct repatriation flights for Greeks who were in Israel.
The Greek citizens who were previously stranded in Israel travelled by road to Egypt and from there “flew” to Greece. Ten minutes after the first aircraft, the second C-27 landed. At 4:35, the C-130 also landed.
Outside the military airport of Elefsina were cars with relatives of civilians. The rest boarded buses that will take them to the center of Athens, where their families will pick them up.
“All is well, all is calm” was the talk of the first Greeks returning from Israel at dawn on Wednesday
