U.S. President Donald Trump said today that Vietnam will pay a 20% tariff on all products it sends into U.S. territory and a 40% tariff on transshipment under a trade deal.
“The Terms are Vietnam will pay the US a 20% Tariff on all goods it sends to our Territory and a 40% Tariff on any Transshipment,” he wrote in a post on the Truth Social platform.
“They will OPEN THEIR MARKET TO THE UNITED STATES, which means we will be able to sell our product to Vietnam with ZERO duty,” he added in his post.
