A state of alert has been declared for a fire that broke out shortly after 12:30 p.m. in Thessaloniki, specifically in the Kato Scholari area.
According to the Fire Department, the flames are burning low vegetation, and the operation involves 45 firefighters, two ground teams from the 2nd Special Forest Operations Unit (EMODE), 14 vehicles, 2 helicopters, and 2 aircraft. Additional support is being provided by municipal water tankers.
Residents of the area also received a 112 emergency alert, informing them to be on standby and prepared.
