Powerful explosion in an apartment building in Thessaloniki – Damage to surrounding buildings

Police see a terrorist attack

A very powerful explosion occurred at dawn on Saturday in Thessaloniki, on the ground floor of the apartment building at 19 Makedonomachon Street.

Thestival.gr reports that a man and a woman were slightly injured by broken glass.

The explosion, which was heard at a high pitch, caused extensive property damage to the ground floor of the apartment building and at least four adjacent buildings. Furthermore, six cars were damaged and there was damage from the shock wave over a long distance.

 

Fire brigades and police forces were rushed to the scene.
