François Bayrou: “Dark day” for Europe with the EU-US trade deal

The French Prime Minister said that with the agreement the EU "decided to submit" to the US

The trade deal between European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump is a “dark day” for Europe, French Prime Minister Francois Bayrou said.

“It is a dark day when an alliance of free peoples, united to assert their values and defend their interests, decides to submit,” Bayrou wrote on X shortly after the announcement of the EU-US trade deal.
