A fire broke out on Friday in Chelidoni, Ancient Olympia, in an agricultural-forest area near the monastery of Panagia Sentoukiotissa.
A 112 alert has been issued to evacuate a total of eight settlements.
Local media report that a person with burns on their hands was evacuated by ambulance from the Chelidoni sports field.
At the scene are 30 vehicles with 95 firefighters and four foot patrol teams. From the air, 6 aircraft and 3 helicopters are involved. Construction machinery and water trucks from local authorities are also assisting.
Strong winds in the area are pushing the fire front toward Pelopio and Ancient Olympia.
Meanwhile, residents of Pelopio, Ancient Olympia, are without power due to the fire. The flames approached the village but stopped at already burned areas.
At 17:45, a 112 message was sent urging residents to be on alert.
A second message followed shortly after, ordering evacuation from Grammatikos, Latzoi, Agios Georgios Latzoiou, Pournari, and Irakleia.
A third message was sent after 19:00 for evacuation from Pelopio, Kafkonia, and Platanos settlements.
