Hunter Biden: “I will not apologise to Melania Trump” despite the threat of a $1 billion lawsuit

He stressed that he will not apologise to the first lady of the US for his claim that Jeffrey Epstein was the one who introduced her to Trump

Newsroom August 14 05:58

Hunter Biden has made it clear that he does not intend to apologize to the first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, for statements she made regarding her acquaintance with President Donald Trump.

According to the Washington Post, former US President Joe Biden‘s son Joe Biden, speaking in an interview with journalist and YouTuber Andrew Callahan, responded strongly to a question about whether he would retract his statements. “That’s not going to happen,” he said unequivocally.

Biden clarified that his claims are based on what he has read and heard publicly reported in recent years. He said journalist Michael Wolf had included similar references in his writings, and as early as 2019, Annie Carney and Maggie Haberman at the New York Times had documented sources claiming Epstein claimed to be the man who introduced Melania to Donald Trump.

The statement prompted a reaction from Melania Trump. On Wednesday, her lawyer sent a letter to Hunter Biden demanding an immediate retraction and public apology for his “extremely obscene” statements . The letter noted that if she fails to comply, she will take legal action seeking damages that could exceed $1 billion.

Hunter Biden has dismissed the threat of a lawsuit, claiming it is an attempt to shift the public debate. “The reality is that I don’t view these threats as anything more than a premeditated distraction,” he said, insisting he has no intention of changing his stance.
