Wrong blood transfusion in a patient of a private clinic – Three arrests

The patient is in intensive care - The nurse, the director of the clinic and the supervisor were arrested

A new incident of incorrect blood transfusion in a patient, this time at a private clinic, specifically the Euroclinic, occurred in the early hours of Monday morning (8/9).

According to reports, a nurse at the clinic transfused the wrong type of blood to a 67-year-old patient. The incident was noticed by his wife, and the transfusion was interrupted (40ml of the 200ml had already been inserted).

The patient is being treated, and three people were arrested for the case: the nurse, the clinic manager, and the supervisor. Authorities are investigating the circumstances under which the incident occurred.

It will be recalled that a few months ago, a similar incident was recorded at Tzaneio Hospital, causing the death of a 62-year-old woman.
