Athens goes car-free again this Sunday (21/9), as part of the “Car-free Athens” initiative

Newsroom September 21 09:22

The action highlights sustainable mobility, inviting citizens and visitors to explore the city center on foot, by bicycle, or by public transport. For this purpose, the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) has announced extensive traffic restrictions.

Traffic ban in Athens, September 21, 20:00–23:00
According to the official announcement, the traffic ban began on Saturday, September 20, at 20:00 and will last until Sunday, September 21, at 23:00.

During this period, no vehicles will be allowed to pass through central streets of the Municipality of Athens, turning the area into a large open space for pedestrians and cyclists.

Closed streets: Athinas, Karagiorgi Servias, Perikleous, up to Ermou.
