Russia and Iran will sign agreements this week to construct new nuclear power units in Iran, the head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization said, according to the Russian state news agency RIA.
Eslami, who is also Iran’s vice president, made the remarks during a visit to Moscow for talks.
Western governments accuse Tehran of not complying with a 2015 agreement with world powers designed to prevent it from developing nuclear weapons.
Iran denies any such intent, and Russia states that it supports Tehran’s right to nuclear energy for peaceful purposes.
