Weather conditions will be good this weekend across most parts of the country, with temperatures reaching up to 25°C. In some areas yesterday, the thermometer climbed past 27°C.

According to the network of automated weather stations from meteo.gr / National Observatory of Athens, the highest recorded temperature was in the Isthmus of Corinth at 27.5°C.

Today’s Weather

In Eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the Northeast Aegean islands, and Halkidiki, increased cloud cover is expected with generally light rain.
In the rest of the country, the weather will be mostly fair with scattered clouds, which will gradually increase in Sporades and the eastern mainland, bringing light rain in the afternoon in the Sporades, and locally in the eastern mainland by evening.

Temperatures will range:

• Western Macedonia: 3°C to 18°C
• Rest of Macedonia and Thrace: 7°C to 20–22°C
• Thessaly: 8°C to 23–25°C
• Epirus: 8°C to 20–22°C
• Other mainland regions: 9°C to 23–25°C
• Ionian Islands: 11°C to 22–24°C
• Aegean islands & Crete: 11°C to 22–24°C

Winds:

• In the Aegean, winds will blow from the northwest at 5–6 Beaufort, turning northeast during the day, with gusts up to 6 Beaufort.
• In the Ionian, winds will be north/northwest at 4–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 Beaufort in the north, but will shift to the east and weaken slightly by night.

Weather in Athens (Attica region)

• Scattered clouds, increasing in the afternoon.
• Light rain expected in the north and east of the region from the evening.
• Winds: initially northwest up to 4 Beaufort, shifting to northeast up to 6 Beaufort in the afternoon.
• Temperature: 15°C to 24°C.

Weather in Thessaloniki

• Periods of increased clouds with a chance of brief, light rain.
• Winds: northwest at 4–5 Beaufort, and up to 6 Beaufort in the open waters of Thermaikos Gulf.
• Temperature: 13°C to 20–21°C.

• In western and southern Peloponnese: partly cloudy with local showers.
• In eastern mainland, Sporades, Evia (especially the north), and Crete: increased clouds with light rain until midday.
• In the rest of the country: mostly clear with patchy clouds, initially thicker in the west and north, spreading to other mainland areas later.
• Visibility may be locally limited in the western mainland, especially mountainous areas, during evening hours.

Winds:

• In the west: easterly at 3–5 Beaufort, locally up to 6 in southern Ionian, weakening after midday.
