US President Donald Trump landed in Israel shortly before 9:45 a.m. He will meet with released hostages later in the day, speak in the Knesset and be in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt to chair the Gaza summit where a peace agreement for the region is expected to be signed.

Donald Trump stepped off Air Force One with a clenched fist saying “thank you” in English to those on the welcoming committee.

The President of the United States was received by Israel’s President Isaac Herzog, along with the country’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sarah.

On the welcoming committee from the US side were Trump’s daughter Ivanka, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, special envoy Steve Whitcoff and US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee.

In fact, at the moment when those gathered in Homer Square were informed of the landing of Air Force One, they erupted in a chant of “thank you” for the US president.
