The bill from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport concerning the Civil Aviation Authority is being debated in Parliament in a heated atmosphere, as the political confrontation has shifted toward the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and the amendment submitted last night by the government regarding the “protection of the integrity and intended use of the Monument.”

A short while ago, the Parliamentary majority rejected the objections of unconstitutionality that had been submitted concerning the amendment by PASOK, SYRIZA, New Left, and Course of Freedom.

“The site of the monument is a sacred place of coexistence; it belongs to no government, no party, no organization, and no individual. It is a place of remembrance for those who fell for the homeland and must be safeguarded,”
emphasized Kyriakos Mitsotakis, stressing that the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier must be protected.
