The day begins with locally intense phenomena in the northeast and the eastern Aegean; however, according to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (HNMS), weather conditions will gradually improve from midday onwards, as northerly winds strengthen and temperatures drop.
Based on the HNMS emergency weather bulletin, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in Thrace during the early morning hours, then from early morning until midday across the eastern Aegean islands and the Dodecanese. Gradually, conditions will improve and clearer weather will prevail over most parts of the country.
In the rest of mainland Greece, the day will feature intervals of sunshine with a few scattered clouds, mainly in the east. Winds will blow from the north, strengthening to 7 Beaufort in the Aegean, bringing lower temperatures and a cool feel, especially during the morning and evening.
Temperatures will range between 8–18°C in the north, 10–20°C in central regions, and 13–22°C in the south. In Athens, mostly sunny skies are expected with strong northerly winds up to 6 Beaufort and temperatures from 12–21°C. Thessaloniki will see mostly fair weather with a few clouds and temperatures from 10–19°C.
Toward the end of the week, northern winds will persist across the country, with temperatures close to seasonal averages. Rainfall will decrease significantly, bringing a more stable autumn pattern.
Rainfall in Arcadia Reaches 100 mm
Rain and locally strong thunderstorms occurred on Monday, 10 November, mainly in the western regions and mountainous areas of the Peloponnese, where significant rainfall totals were recorded.
According to the automatic weather station network of the National Observatory of Athens / Meteo.gr, high rainfall amounts were measured in western areas and the Peloponnese highlands. The highest recorded total by 18:20 local time was 99.8 mm at Psathi, Megalopolis (Arcadia).
