The Police Directorate for Combating Organized Crime of Northern Greece carried out a police operation yesterday morning in which a Turkish man was arrested and charged with violating weapons legislation.
During the operation, which was carried out with the assistance of police officers from the Department of Crimes against Life and Property, the Department of Narcotics and the Department of Intelligence and Special Operations, searches were carried out in four houses in Thessaloniki and in an area of Halkidiki.
In this context, the accused was arrested, as a crossbow which he possessed illegally was found and confiscated, while a total of 10 more arrests were made (9 Turkish nationals and a Greek).
It is noted that, the accused has been arrested in the past and has been subject to restraining orders.
The arrested person will be taken to the relevant prosecuting authority.
