Twelve arrests for drink-driving in Attica – Over 22,000 traffic checks in the last four days

A special enforcement operation targeting driving under the influence of alcohol was carried out by the Attica Traffic Police from last Thursday, November 20, until this morning, November 24, across various road arteries in the Athens metropolitan area.

According to the Police, 22,800 checks were conducted and 387 violations for drink-driving were recorded, while 12 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol with readings exceeding 0.60 mg/l.

The operation involved officers from the Traffic Accident Control and Prevention Units (OEPTA) and Traffic Departments of the Attica Traffic Police Directorate.

Checks aimed at preventing drink-driving will continue with undiminished intensity.
